Mr. Mercer joined The Damone Group in late 2006 as Director and was instrumental in the development of Cranbrook Senior Living, a senior living provider, and currently serves as its Senior Vice President. He is responsible for the development of new senior housing opportunities with The Damone Group and the oversight and expansion of the growing portfolio of Cranbrook Senior Living residences. Mr. Mercer’s responsibilities include the financing, oversight of renovation, re-positioning and investment asset management. He has been involved in the senior housing and healthcare consulting/valuation industries since 1991 with more than 18 years of experience. He was a founding member and principal of a nationally recognized firm specializing in these industries. His responsibilities included the management of the consulting practice, marketing of the company and assistance in the management of the appraisal practice. In addition, Mr. Mercer was a faculty member of the ALFA Assisted Living University. He has presented at the National Investment Center (NIC) to those just entering the senior housing industry. He has lectured on valuation, market demand and financial feasibility issues relating to the assisted living industry. Mr. Mercer has performed third party due diligence and valuation of large assisted living and nursing home portfolios for acquisition and financing purposes. He has developed feasibility studies utilized in public offering statements for the issuance of bonds. He has also provided market and financial feasibility studies analyzing existing, proposed and distressed senior living and healthcare projects for large and small operators as well as financial institutions.
Mr. Mercer is a graduate of the University of Delaware in Newark Delaware, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics.
