Robinson E. Zamorano, Vice President of Construction, has over 24 years of experience in the real estate and construction industry.
Mr. Zamorano joined The Damone Group in 2002 as Director of Construction/Multi-Family to head the construction operations for the company. He organized and set up the infrastructure to manage the construction and administration for a diverse array of market and government funded projects. He also led the design-build effort with the architect for the recent Green House nursing home construction.
Prior to joining The Damone Group, Mr. Zamorano was employed by Carleton Residential Properties, a multifamily developer with corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas, specializing in City, Tax Credit and HUD funded projects. At Carleton, he was responsible for all aspects of the planning, budgeting, development and construction of multiple new residential multifamily projects for the company within the State of Texas. He also assisted with the company’s construction management accounts with the "Dallas Housing Authority" and "Denton Housing Authority". During his seven year tenure with Carleton, he helped the company grow from start up to over $100 million in annual sales. Prior to Carleton, from 1991 to 1995, Mr. Zamorano served as Director of Operations for Avery Edwards, a Dallas based single-family housing builder, where he managed all of the marketing and construction operations of their north Dallas-Fort Worth area subdivisions.
From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Zamorano was employed by Trammel Crow Company, a national residential/commercial developer based in Dallas. At Crow, he held several positions, ultimately being promoted to Operations Manager, with responsibility for all aspects of construction for the firm's Dallas residential division.
Mr. Zamorano is a 1983 graduate of the University of Santiago in Chile with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE). He also earned an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Dallas in 1986.
Mr. Zamorano is an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) where he held different leadership positions, first at the local level and ultimately at the national board for over eight years, most recently as National Treasurer. He is also an active member in the National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA).
Mr. Zamorano graduated from the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Detroit Program, Class XXVII in 2006. He is serving as a board member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Greater Detroit Area (NCAADD-GDA). He is active with several charities including the American Diabetes Association, and he is a member of the Building Bridges Committee for the Michigan Opera and the Michigan Housing Council.
